Case Study - Bethany Connor
Bethany is a trainee chartered legal executive working for AFG Law Bolton. She began as a legal apprentice with AFG Law, transferring from another training provider to PVLT to finish off her Level 3 studies. She has passed three Level 6 units, Family Law and Practice and Client Care and she is waiting for results in Public Law and Tort Law both of which she studied on a 1:2:1 basis along with Legal Research. If successful, Beth will have completed the required number of units to qualify as a Chartered Legal Executive once she has completed qualifying employment. However, with the encouragement, support and continued funding from her employer, Beth is returning in September to study further units at Level 6 with a view to eventually obtaining a place on the Legal Practice Course and qualifying as a solicitor.
Beth is a valuable fee earner and her duties at work include having conduct of her own private and public law matters representing parents whose children have been taken into care and where there is divorce or separation involved. She is also heavily involved with marketing and dealing with social media for AFG Law. She was shortlisted as Learner of the Year by CILEx and last November she won Employee of the Year for Marketing.
Beth is a very conscientious student and a pleasure to teach. As already highlighted she has completed a very intense year doing Public and Tort Law on a 1:2:1 basis. She says of this experience “ I initially found Public Law difficult but Debbie Feenan helped and supported me and taught me to a level which I understood. I could always rely on either of my tutors and I would recommend 100% 1:2:1 tuition. I enjoy learning with PVLT and wouldn’t like to be taught by anyone else.”
We will be more than happy to have Beth back studying with us in September and helping her where we can to reach her end goal. She hopes one day to be selected to be on the Children’s Panel, achieve Higher Rights of Audience and possibly appointed to a senior position at AFG Law. Great aspirations that we’re sure she has the ability with her hard work and dedication to achieve!
